It was an early-morning check-in. We watched lights of the city slowly twinkle out in the oncoming day as Kara was prepped for surgery, while we cracked nervous jokes and pounded coffee. There was so much waiting – it was almost painful to have to wait those last few hours after all the stressful waiting of the previous 9 months – but quite suddenly everything moved at hyper speed. Kara was taken to the OR, Andy and I had to suit up all purdy-like, and then we were being ushered into the operating room. Guys, C-sections are A M A Z I N G and also shockingly fast.
