Kate’s Birth at Erlanger Hospital in Chattanooga, TN
First births – in my experience – tend to go slow. There’s the weeks of thinking it’s going to be any minute, and then when it IS finally time, the hours of sloooooow progression. But every now and then, I get surprised. Kate was slated to arrive mid-August – but two weeks ago, I got a call at 11pm that her sweet mama was in full-on labor at 4cm. Generally at this point in the process, it’s quite a few hours until the 6cm “time for the birth photographer” milestone; but 45 minutes later I got a call saying she was complete and it was time for delivery. I went from asleep to dressed, geared up, and in the hospital room shooting within 20 minutes, and made it in time for Kate’s entirely amazing, miraculous delivery. It was so beautiful, and such an honor. Chattanooga birth photography.
